Good morning my Glibs and Gliberinas! And what a glorious morning it is for everyone especially those in the alt-tech business as adapocalypse is upon us again! Which is going swimmingly.
The adapocaplypse was set off by a self-described queer working for Vox trying to take out Crowder and was successful at getting Crowder demonetized which did absolutely nothing as most of Crowder’s videos have already been demonetized.
I wonder why all the free market conservatives and libertarians aren’t speaking out against all the antitrust investigations taking place. I really wonder why.
Pelosi quite brilliantly tries steering her party from disaster by appealing to her batshit crazy angry base.
I’d watch a sitcom starring these two. What would it be called?
That’s all I go for today. I’ll leave you with a song and move along with my day.
Guten Morgen, Banjos!
Mornin’
早上!
“Pelosi quite brilliantly tries steers her party from disaster by appealing to her batshit crazy angry base.”
She is one heck of shrewd harpy, after all.
It’s like they’re floating along the Niagara and everyone is arguing about who forgot to buy the beer.
Hi Banjos!
Haven’t listened to them in awhile. Brings back some good memories!
Have a great day!
Mornin’ Tundra, have a good one!
If you don’t like that no one is speaking out about it, maybe you should make and post you own YouTube video on the subject. Maybe even make a few cents from the ads.
What you did there, I sees it, I does.
I should have guessed you or Mike S would have been the one to spot it.
Mom! Mom! Mo-om!!! People are being mean to me on the internet!!
Free speech is, like, so problematic, you know?
It is not as long as you define it right. Free speech should be only speech that is unhurtful and unoffensive and generally leftwing.
Hate speech is not free speech, you cis-gendered, white, hetero asshole!!!11!!!!
And hate speech just coincidentally is always speech that is not left-wing.
Or exposes the left for the frauds they are.
Yeah, that about sums it up.
I wish Crowder hadn’t used “fags” (ok, technically “f*gs”), but extremism in defense of liberty if no vice.
I get the feeling he agrees with that.
By the way, I was too late to the party, but I really enjoyed the latest installment. Can’t wait to see which direction he goes!
I was thinking the same when I watched his “apology” video. If you go too far, your message gets drowned out and you have to spend time defending your hyperbole.
I don’t see the problem in saying that Socialism is a bundle of sticks.
Oohhh…I thought he meant cigarettes! Smoking will kill you!!!11!!!
I was going to post that “faggot” (lit, “bundle of twigs”) became a derogatory slang word for homos was because so many of us got burned at the stake, but that turns out to be false etymology.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faggot_(slang)#Etymology
This was linked in that article:
The Fagbug
I have a hard time believing that actually happened (the graffiti part). Or is Albany a hotbed of bigots?
…I mean, other than the NY Legislature.
I’m sure it was every bit as real as the “you black gay” note Jussie got.
Tonio, the first time I heard that term used, it was by my uncle, and he was using it to refer to himself. I never got the impression he felt it was a derogatory term of any kind, but then again, he did have one of the most sarcastic senses of humor you would ever find.
In this sort of existential fight, I am now not sure there is such a thing as “too far”. These people don’t stop at silencing those they don’t like, but actually go the extra step to destroy them and their ability to earn a living. When you are engaged in that kind of warfare – and have no doubt that it is war for them – if you don’t fight to win, and in the process crush them, you will lose.
^This. Yeah, they pick on some random forklift operator or firewood supplier and ruin his life. And while actual Nazis are repellent they deserve the right to live in peace same as anyone else.
And when the left runs out of actual Nazis, KKK, etc (which is pretty easy since they are few in number) they will cast their net ever wider. This is how you get a Cultural Revolution, people.
“And while actual Nazis are repellent they deserve the right to live in peace same as anyone else.”
You know this is a unbelievably important point I think most people seem unable to grasp. The only time I have ever felt compelled to act was when someone went from thinking/saying stupid/evil shit to actually doing it. Otherwise, I just leave people be. They have the right to be wrong and fucking assholes. And no, hurt feelings or getting offended are NOT grounds for action.

Well, and the fact that Maza is a loathsome piece of shit has nothing to do with him being gay. It distracts from his actual failings as a human being, a “journalist,” and so-called sentient being.
And Carlos is the one who told people to throw milkshakes at people.
^^^
That asshole has the gall to say he has a “thick skin”. Right, as thick as wet tissue paper.
Constantly pushing the line between physical violence and protest is what assholes like Maza do.
And they simultaneously claim that words are violence, which therefore justifies their physical actions.
I’m looking forward to the riots
Cruz: sporting a face full of hair. When did that happen? At least he doesn’t look like Gomer Pyle anymore.
^This. The beard suits him.
Softens the smarmy-ness.
Cruz and Cortez starring in “Strange Bedfellows”! She’s the quirky barista from downstairs that gets locked out of her apartment in just a towel, he’s the curmudgeon with a hidden heart of gold. There’s learning, laughter and… Love.
Paging SugarFree!
::cue jaunty, jangly Major key 90’s era sit-com tune::
Every episode ends with either her struggling to do simple math or eating an apple in two terrifying bites.
Plagiarizing (again)
That’s what we high octane TV writers do! It’s right there in the fine print!
Also hope you’re not serious…
Sorry that you misunderstood me. I meant Cruz, suddenly is sporting the macho look. His whole life he looked as smooth as a baby’s butt. He’s doing what politicians do best, look like a tough(er) guy.
My fault for not being more specific. I’ll take my punishment, Festus
I was thinking the “Odd Couple “.
And by Love you mean…
Beards can work wonders for dudes with weak chins.
Ja – my first roommate in college (may he RIP) had a really weak chin that he covered with an arty scraggly beard that gave him a downmarket beatnik look. He shaved it off once – looked like the geek he was – and promptly grew the chin merkin back.
Was your roommate Maynard G Krebs?
No but my roommate could have played his stunt double.
In his mid-30s he ended up dying of cancer – eye cancer! – that spread to his brain. He was an awkward fellow who tried too hard – and rather unsuccessfully – to be social and outgoing.
Or dudes with lots of neck fat. That’s why they’re so popular with a certain age demographic.
I am trying to quit youtube but there are still plenty of channels I like, mostly non political.
But I am thinking hard about what can be done against the left dominating most of the news and entertainment… not much would be my guess.
Honestly, I’m surprised there haven’t been more competitors to this point. When you basically tell 50% of your available market to fuck off, that strikes me as an excellent opportunity.
My guess is because all the ‘right’ people would call the new service Nazis.
And the new service if it started to become significant would be hampered by left-wing companies they would need to rely on for infrastructure and web access.
And banks would refuse service. And so on…
Which of course is just fine with the “bake the cake” crowd.
I think it is tough and with new regulations supported by the existing players it will get tougher. Most people don’t care about freespeech to presure the companies. Hell most humans aka idiots are for banning “”hate speech
Competitors unfortunately got the initial wave of tech refugees which a lot of were actual white supremacists making it easy for the evil corporate media to label the free speech platforms as Nazis. The more they shift that overton window though, the more legit these platforms are becoming.
^^^Banjos knows what’s what. Mornin’!
Mornin’!
^This. They purged the actual Nazis first, which was easy because it was a very small number of people. Then they did the segregationists, another small group. But with every iteration they target a larger and more moderate group. Now they have reached the point where they are going after views which at least adjacent to the mainstream.
The flip side of this is that people who would never have associates with Nazis, WS, are now finding common ground with those people. And those people are waiting with open arms. Which is not to say that everyone who is deplatformed is going to become a Nazi, but those deplatformed people now have much greater tolerance for certain viewpoints. This will not end as planned for the left.
My fav line from Chernobyl:
“Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt will be paid.”
The problem we have is that the left thinks they are fighting a moral war against evil and that only they and their marxist identity politics can deliver the promised utopia. They are fanatics. There is no compromising. And these sort of people always will find a way to make the ends justify the means.
So it’s a comedy!
I really enjoyed Chernobyl, by the way. It really emphasized the corrupt nature of a system of centralized power. I don’t say socialist system, because I see the same behavior within the US government organizations that I work in. The higher up the chain a person gets, the more detached and out of touch – and usually stupid – they have to be.
I wouldn’t go that far. Even a cursory glance at most of those channels can tell you if you feel squiffed out by the content.
That’s a really good point. YouTube, regardless of its actual status, is seen as a part of the media that’s open to everyone, so when it is seen to censor speech arbitrarily it lends some gravitas to what it censors. If you can beat your opponent’s argument with your own, the implication is that your opponent might have a point. And since these things cascade, it’s easy to imagine that the white supremacists who are right about being censored might be right about other things, for some people.
^Bam. Also, mornin’! Also also, I just want to say how much I a.) appreciate the quality links, which I DO read, and b.) look forward to new and unsettling examples of taxidermy.
Geez, you guys are depressing me.
So Carlos Maza wins?
I refuse to accept that.
The left is in control of virtually all media. It sucks but that is the reality.
Anti-trust looms which plays right into big tech’s hands.
I’m still curious as to what article of the constitution gives the federal government the power to bust up companies for being too big. It certainly isn’t the power to ensure that commerce among the several states is free-flowing.
Apparently you aren’t familiar with the FYTW amendment. Pretty sure it was passed sometime between 1860 and the Teddy Roosevelt administration, although nailing down an exact date is difficult.
But there’s precedent.
The from the folks that brought you dozens of 1930’s make work programs and Obamacare, its the hot new comedy, ‘Honey, I Grew the Commerce Clause’!
I’m not sure if he won, so much as caused Crowder to lose. Crowder still has a popular following; I don’t see Maza attracting anywhere near that type of audience. Humor is always much more popular than shrill hectoring; Crowder is a practitioner of the former, Maza the latter.
It’s always a zero-sum game to these people, so, at least in his circle and in their own delusional passion play, he defeated the Nazi.
Throws out the old “But I’m just a comedian” defense which in Crowder’s case is truer than most. He’s a jokester making bucks by being confrontational, not a pundit.
Crowder didn’t lose. According to him most of his stuff on YouTube was already demonetized and his income is mostly from subscribers. I’d say he won or broke even given that he is still on YouTube.
Honestly, I’m surprised there haven’t been more competitors to this point.
I’m not. It took 16 years after CNN was founded for someone to realize they could create a right-wing alternative (Fox News) and scoop up a bunch of market share. And unlike news (which has always been pretty partisan) social media seemed like it was going to be fairly neutral to start with.
There is a reason I avoid social media, and while my primary reason is that I am not interested in making it easy for our deep state to track my going-ons, the second is that I immediately realized that shit was going to end up being used by people with bad intentions for bad purposes.
It did start as fairly neutral, but then Trump happened.
This is correct, but it won’t be for long: there’s just not a neat package of future users that orients in a conservative way . . . or even a political way at all.
I congratulate FoxNews for their share, but it’s dying off. It’s like country music: it might still be around in 20 years, but the music will really just be pop written by suburbanites and sung by skinny Canadian chicks in catsuits; the old core will have long since been abandoned because there’s just not of them left to matter. Which cowboys will FoxNews sing to when everyone who knows how to lasso has died off?
Media have a moving target (don’t we all!?). OrangeMan found some resentment he could harness, and he also is to be congratulated; but there’s no enduring hallmark of American sympathies that can be marketed. . . the US is a mess of a thousand demographics. Political children can project their hopes onto DJT45, but the factories didn’t come back to Ohio; two years from now, they still won’t be back; six years they won’t; at some point Ohio is just a bunch of rusty, whiny bitch losers.
Or: whiny bitch loser is the emerging demographic. I suspect it is, and CNN and YouTube are well-positioned to keep their attention. But this aligns with Bernie and AOC: we will save you; it wasn’t your fault; you deserve; whatever you do, ignore any urge to own your future and achieve. Why wouldn’t YouTube, Slate, and CNN thrive in such times?
“what can be done against the left dominating most of the news and entertainment”
I’ve found not clicking on links as a good start.
So your TV has a layer of dust on the screen just like mine?
Bitchute has a good number of people, and has lasted longer than some of the other attempts.
BitChute is a really good alternative platform.
I’m content watching with Adblock turned on. Google’s shelling out for storage and bandwidth and (afaik) making no revenue on skipped ads, but creators still get paid for their in-house ads.
I don’t remember, was the world index of moral freedom debated on this site?
http://www.fundalib.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/World-Index-of-Moral-Freedom-2018.pdf
Off course like all such ranking the criteria is dubious
No it wasn’t. Do you want to start?
I was surprised at how high North Korea ranked. But the Norks apparently don’t care if you’re gay or smoke pot as long as you’re not political.

The 10 years of celibacy for military enlistees is puzzling to me. What purpose could that possibly serve?
Allegiance to the state and not to someone else…
They know it will probably be violated…they can then have a record of the violation but let it slide, until they need it.
This
Things are far easier to manage when everyone is a criminal.
Whoa, didn’t know that.
Alex and Rob got it right. No idea if NORK military personnel get dependent benefits of any sort.
You are kidding, right? I doubt the NORK troops have any benefits other than free postage for (properly censored/approved) postcards home. They probably still follow the Japanese Imperial Army model of little to no combat medical support.
The free postage also covers the bill for the bullet used to execute them.
Why waste bullets when there are plenty of rocks and willing hands available?
“The 10 years of celibacy for military enlistees is puzzling to me.”
Simple. Any dude who isn’t getting any will be some seriously pissed-off MF ready to kill or die at the drop of the hat. A guy who has been getting it regularly might not be so high-strung.
The monks credited with inventing Kung-Fu had a 10-1 kill ratio.
Sex makes the legs weak?
So all they need is some Mexicans?
On a semi-related topic, I use to have some respect for Freedom House, but when they downgraded the US over Russian influence in the 2016 elections, I lost it.
I wonder why all the free market conservatives and libertarians aren’t speaking out against all the antitrust investigations taking place…
It is problematic, to be sure, but I’m too busy trying to preserve my own rights to enact labor for someone who can well afford their own robust legal defense.
Primo Victoria – Happy D-Day people.
I like how it ends with the Americans killing the guys coming out if the trenches saying “don’t shoot, we are not Nazis, we’re Czechs forced into service”.
I always wondered why they tossed that scene into the movie. I can understand being mightily pissed about all my dead friends on the beach and not super interested in taking prisoners… but I don’t think it was ever that blatant. Maybe for character development?
I saw a documentary (maybe Ken Burns?) where they interviewed a vet that had been at D-Day. Shortly after the invasion, retreating Germans killed some prisoners so they could escape faster. The veteran said something like we didn’t take any prisoners for 2 weeks.
I don’t know how historically accurate it is. I realize you have actually been to war. I would suspect, having only read lightly about it myself, that many such events happen during the horrors of war and are known only by those immediately adjacent. So TLAH’s info feels right to me.
As to why he included it, I thought it was an incredibly powerful moment. When I first saw the movie, I understood fully why the guys did it. Revenge and frustration about losing their comrades. Maybe I would have done the same thing. When I learned later that the guys they killed were prisoners of the Nazis, it makes a point that the innocent suffer horribly in war. The fact that it’s in Czech with no subtitles, makes it so much more effective than Hollywood’s usual hit-you-over-the-head moralizing.
Yeah, this happens in every war, far more often than makes print. I had the chance to edit a law review article written by a former judge advocate in Vietnam. He was arguing for a kind of “diminished capacity” defense in war time for military folks charged with killing people. It’s poignant because he defended a kid who stone-cold slit a (probably) innocent civilian’s throat and dumped the body in a well – right in front of everyone. The kid just snapped after the platoon had been chewed up a bit coming into a “friendly” village. The guy who wrote the article made the point that although it was undoubtedly a crime – and a terrible one – it is NOT the same thing as a killing on the streets of Indiana, for example. His claim was that the kid was not a threat to anyone back home and he could be your neighbor and you would never know what he did. Training people to kill other human beings of a particular ethnicity comes with a price and it occasionally can be hard to control that. I assure you your uncles and grandfathers did some truly horrific shit in WW1, WW2 and Korea… and Vietnam… and… you get the point. Maybe I’ll write something about this and dig up that article.
There are accounts of paratroopers dispatching surrendering Wermacht troop most because, well, what the hell is a squad made up of troops from three different battalions and zero infrastructure supposed to do with prisoners?

Hockey players are funny.
Zero sympathy for Chara. None.
He played his junior hockey here and I got to see him back in the mid-late 90’s. He was a beast even then.
Total beast. Just a bully. And dirty.
No arguments here but he played for our team. If Marchand played for the Canucks I’d probably half-heartedly cheer for him. “He’s a cunt but he’s OUR cunt!”
My only regret is it wasn’t Marchand’s mouth that got smashed.
Yeh. I have a shrine set up hoping the day comes.
He’s the worst. Dives, cheats, acts like a rat and then projects onto others.
Back in the 80s at least an enforcer would pummel a guy like that. Now, they get to roam the ice much too Cherry’s chagrin.
Watched this over the weekend on Netflix
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4431208/
Being just a casual hockey fan I never really grasped the true importance of an enforcer to the health and sustainability of a superstar’s career. Good stuff.
The game is changing. The rules changes have largely eliminated the need for an enforcer and the terrible stories of those dudes later in life are gonna keep that out of the game forever.
There is still too much bullshit (checking from behind, cross checking in front of the net) that I think will slowly disappear as well. If you look at the size of the top prospects, there are a bunch of studs under 6 feet tall.
I liked the game of my youth but there is just no escaping the fact that today’s game is better. The speed and skill is just absurd. There was a sequence during the last game during which two of my buddies texted ‘holy shit’ at almost the same moment. St. Louis was putting on a passing and forechecking clinic. It was awesome.
Guys like Marchand will always be there, but I think their influence will continue to decline.
Couldn’t agree more.
I think I know exactly what you and your buddies saw.
There’s been quite a bit of that from a few teams. Tampa, Columbus, SJ etc. They all had sequences that left you impressed.
The skill is through the roof. We saw some of that with the Red Wings of the 90s and Habs of the 70s. I still think the Oilers of the 80s were from another planet though.
Now if only they could mandate Olympic sized rinks. I know, won’t happen, revenue and all. But maybe if the Queen dictated that hockey could only be played on Olympic sized rinks, the Canadians would fall in line and then the NHL would have to change its rules.
Goon was a fun watch.
Canada casts a weary eye to Dave Semenko…
I like him.
pfft.
Bruins!
I hope your jeep gets the willies.

Go BLUES!
Been there. Different sport but the results are the same. I wonder from time to time just how many undiagnosed concussions I’ve had in my life. I’d have to ballpark it around a ten or so. Which begs the question of how that has influenced my emotional state and cognitive reasoning. Probably not for the better.
#metoo. Football, baseball, hockey, fist fights, car wrecks and almost all of those before I was old enough to buy beer. Probably north of a dozen and that’s being conservative. That doesn’t take into account the childhood of falling out of trees and face-planting off the monkey bar type stuff. No wonder I’m so dense.
I don’t like to think about it.
Oh yeah, back when I was playing HS sports it wasn’t a concussion, you “got your bell rung” and were told to walk it off.
I took a stick to the face about 10 years ago. I’ve played hockey since I was five and it was the first time I’d ever caught one up high. I felt a crunch and that was about it. I bled like a stuck pig. Luckily there was a paramedic playing drop in with us at the time. He hopped boards and got a towel on me to get pressure on the bleeding. By time we got to the locker room my jersey and the towel were soaked in blood. I never lost consciousness, but my vision was down to a pin hole.
I ended up with about 40 stitches, internal and external, around the bridge of my nose and eye. Before they went in, I could lift my eyebrow and see a hole through and out my nostril. I broke: nose, orbital, sinus, and skull. I was incredibly lucky that everything just sort of broke and stayed in place. No surgery and still damn attractive, if I say so myself.
Moral of the story, wear a cage or full shield unless you’re getting paid to play.
Dang. Dude on my mens league team got two-handed in the face – broke his jaw in like 5 places and lost 10 teeth. Never heard how his lawsuit against the guy that hit him turned out (off duty cop, can you believe it?!?).
Moral of the story, wear a cage or full shield unless you’re getting paid to play.
I agree 100%. Every time I think about going back to a half-shield, the very next time I play I take a shot or stick that would have had me spitting teeth. Doesn’t help that I can’t get out of the way any more…
I grew up when they just started mandating full-cages. Much later in life I was playing in a men’s league and bought a new helmet. I was in a rush and didn’t have time to put the cage on and, since it was optional, I played without one. I tried to go back but couldn’t believe how much I didn’t like looking through the cage or fogging up the shield, so now I don’t wear one. I know how risky it is, but I feel blind by comparison when wearing one. I wear a mouthpiece and a lifetime in combat sports has taught me how to keep my mouth closed. To wit, I once caught a stick in the mouth, but minimal damage as the mouthpiece and closed yap really make a huge difference.
I can’t skate to save my life, but I used to play broomball a lot.
I took a guy’s fingernail off with a broomball stick. He just wrapped it up and kept playing – but he wore gloves after that.
self-described queer working for Vox trying to take out Crowder and was successful at getting Crowder demonetized
Trying to silence people all the while referring to them as “fascists”.
They are humorless cunts, therefore lack any sense of irony aka “unconscious self-parody” which is the cruelest, and therefore funniest, form of humor.
“cruelest, and therefore funniest, form of humor”
I knew I liked you, Tony Toni Toné.
I do what I can to keep this place Toney.
His video about media bias is so lacking in self-awareness it’s funny.
And sad. “Fox News controls the world!!!” Yea, sure, ONE major network leans right so they get to be the boogieman. It is kinda the same thing as the NRA. God help us if leftists discover that there are other far more fundamentalist and effective gun rights orgs.
Re youtube,
Conservatives are such snowflakes.
/ENB and Reason staff.
To side with despicable shitheads like Maza and publications like Vox is unfortunate. Evil stuff right there man.
It’s okay to try to silence Crowder because Crowder is “icky”.
I understand YouTube also cares about “fake news” now. If they are going to start censoring they should start with Vox and NowThis.
While I was icing my nuts yesterday, I watched Schindler’s List for the first time on Netflix. Good, horrible movie, but also a great reminder that comparing/calling someone a Nazi is just fucking idiotic.
That’s quite the intro! “While I was digging a grave in my crawlspace…” j/k I know what happened.
A guy who does videos about history (of which Nazis are a pretty integral part) is himself a Nazi. OK. That makes perfect sense.
I suppose they will come after TheHistoryGuy at some point. He covers just about everything so I am pretty sure he has mentioned Nazis once.
Shaniqua Azikiwe is an idiot.
related: Why conservatives are winning the internet
What planet does this asshole live on?
Planet Vox.
Yeah, no. PJW got it right two years ago.
[golf clap]
“Progressives are the new Puritans; they are joyless and authoritarian.”
[swoons]
Except “rockstar” Milo has been completely unpersoned at this point. PJW has been banned from Facebook. So unlike conservatives trying to censor and failing in the 70’s, progressives are succeeding in censoring now.
Conservatives tend to focus on simple, clear messages around freedom in particular. The left tends to focus on this general idea of fairness.
At least they admit that freedom and their concept of “fairness” are in opposition.
Hahaha,….wut?
Most of those points are completely bass-ackwards.
4-Chan trolls are not the Borg. There is no hive-mind. They are just general shit disturbers that like to make the normies dance like marionettes. If someone comes up with a clever idea that rubs people the wrong way and makes them laugh they will do it and gain traction with the like minded. It’s like all of these whingers have never had older siblings and it is pathetic.
*disturbtributors
Conservatives tend to focus on simple, clear messages around freedom in particular.
And every time some vox whiner gets someone deplatformed or demonetized that provides yet another oppo for messaging. The identifiable victim is much more sympathetic than a vague idea. Keep it up, progs.
See? How is this not hate speech or fake news according to their own stupid standards?
‘Idea of fairness’….like Maza’s antics? Say, when he calls for people to attack others with milkshakes.
Are these people insane in their complete hypocrisy?
they tend to have more top-down organizations
CNN, Vox, Vice, MSDNC, NowThis, etc could not be reached for comment.
The left wants a diverse array of voices.
There is literally nothing more monolithic then leftist echo-chambers.
The left wants a shrieking mob.
Social media provides.
This is not to say that given the opportunity, the socon right would not eagerly participate in internet lynchings, but they are not in the position to drive that right now. It is uniformly coming from the progressive left and the cowards who live in fear of being called a racist/misogynist/patriarch/transphobic/whateverist.
The right still does it as well. You can see it on social media when someone on the left says something extra stupid. They get dragged.
Or the comments on that Gillette ad.
But the worst they threaten is “I won’t buy your stuff”
Yeah, the huge internet media players are definitely conservative in bent.

Unfamiliar with Anisimova. I am guessing she is first generation American by that name.
Yup…”Her parents emigrated from Russia to the United States a few years before she was born to give their children better opportunities.”. From her wikipedia page.
In a very short career, she is 9-6 all time vs top 20 players. Her current ranking was 51 (one spot above Venus), eyeballing it, she will probably be about 25th if she loses the semis, about 20th if she loses finals, about 13th if she wins it all.
When commemorating D-Day, don’t forget the dark side of American war efforts
The heroism of World War II can’t obscure the sexual violence and racism that were part of the Allies’ war.

The WaPo really is a collection of Marxist cunts.
Ah fuck it! Tear it all down!
The same outlet that wants you to fetishize our heroes also wants you to remember what horrible scum they were. But our current heroes are paragons of virtue and only do the good kind of rape.
Too bad we didn’t have Democrats in total control of the government back then.
Yeah, they might have stopped the RethugliKKKans from putting Japanese-Americans in detainment camps.
^This.
The whole situation was a shitshow but they indict society as a whole instead of the actual people in charge.
They could have chosen almost any other day except fuggin D-Day. What a bunch of assholes who I bet say “muh Red Army dindu nothin’ wrong”.
Yep. Ike had soldiers convicted of rape hanged. The Red Army literally gave everyone a rape hall-pass to celebrate their victory.
STEVE SMITH SAY “HELLO COMRADE”
Yeah, I’m not a fan of how Taylor reportedly handled this. If he was giving a free pass on rape, that’s not conducive to good order and discipline in my book. A few hangings would probably have been appropriate.
Exactly this.
Once you start making exceptions, it’s all over.
The fact that you have empowered these men to kill in the name of the state means you must also put other limits on their behavior.
Stay classy, WaPo.
Bu-but they fought Nazis! I’ve been told by American journalism that, should you criticize some who fights Nazis, that makes you a Nazi too.
When commemorating D-Day, don’t forget the dark side of American war efforts
No. When studying history you should remember and consider the dark side of everything (and nearly everything has a dark side), but when commemorating something it is bad manners to drag the skeletons from the closet. Commemorations are not supposed to be holistic assessments of their subjects; they are intentionally one-sided, and that’s OK. They serve the purpose of helping people cope, or grieve, or learn, or celebrate something worth celebrating, on a very specific subject. And unless you dislike that subject, you should not rain on the parade. There are 364 other days in a year to discuss the dark side.
“If that’s their new standard, will they now demonetize all the rap videos with homophobic slurs on their platform?”
Excellent question, though of course we all know the answer.
That’s all art man. Art makes all sorts of shit acceptable. Well, all sorts of shit except non-progressive identity politics defined things, that is.
That’s different!!!
What about the misogynist rap lyrics? Talk about a target rich environment. You could basically wipe out the whole genre except for early Run DMC.
And DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
They should be removed because they suck.
“I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” Pelosi said, according to multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting.
Surely she can articulate a legitimate legal reason as to why.
Did Stalin justify sending people to the gulag?
“Show me the man, and I will show you the crime’?
Why are you quoting Robert Mueller?
I though Mueller was tasked with fabricating a crime so they could succeed at their coup attempt, and not just finding something in someone’s past to use.
He did a damn poor job of it then. His track record for doing that in the Anthrax case should have clued the Dems into that beforehand.
Well, Mueller, despite being a crooked inept fuck, realized quickly that the dems wanted blood, and that meant whatever he produced to facilitate that, and doubly so if it was based on pure bullshit (which is all they had and were able to get because nobody fell for the numerous entrapment scams to allow them to call out obstruction), would not end with impeachment, but with Trump going to court. In court, politics was not going to be enough, and his supposed reputation would be ruined when the case got thrown out. This is also why he can’t testify under out, because they would immediately get him for being forced to admit he wasted close to three years on a crime he knew didn’t exist but he desperately needed to find a way to nail orange man with to protect the weaponized Oabam 3 letter agency bureaucracy’s legacy of criminal activity to go live.
The dems will eventually turn on him for not voluntarily taking the step of ending up under the bus and giving them the shit they wanted to run a coup against orange man, though, is my belief.
“I want to see him in prison”
That means Pelosi would have to be in prison, too.
Surely she can articulate a legitimate legal reason as to why.
ORANGE MAN BAD!!
Thot Thursday is just getting warmed up.

25 minutes after first comment, or does half and hour only apply when it’s Swiss?
How do you tell autocorrect that “an” is “an” acceptable word?
You have to correct autocorrect three times before it decides that you really, really meant that and gives up.
turn off autocorrect
There ain’t no time limit on nice titties
You know the Swiss and their punctuality and precision. Banjos is a little more flexible (I hope).
There are rules?
Swiss gets ticked if I titpost within the first 30 minutes.
More like guidelines.
Swiss is a better libertarian than anarchist.
Didn’t you post this same list a few days ago?

‘The models have bellies, hips and thighs that jiggle’: the rise of body-positive swimwear
There is a difference between jiggling and wobbling.
When you are big enough to exert gravity on other bodies, there is a problem…
When the other beach-goers keep trying to roll you back into the water to save you, there is a problem…
There is a massive difference with non-model skinny girls with a little extra cushion (which a lot of guys prefer) and the morbidly obese land whales I’m sure they’re referring to in this article.
Go ahead, click, you know you want to
That’s Q man, not John….
The first two models are at the far end of “a little extra” but nowhere near morbidly obese (by my standards, fuck BMI). Duly noted that the second model is wearing a black suit which when combined with the pose makes it difficult to gauge her shape.
Bonus for you: “Bravissimo specialises in swimwear for women with larger busts.” Unfortunately, that means less cleavage as those suits seem engineered to hide, rather than emphasize.
I think the hiding is an inescapable consequence of providing structural support.
^This. The key is looking like you give a shit about your appearance. I’ve seen big girls that obviously take care of themselves and for whatever reason are heavier than average, but, and this is key, they’re not what we refer to as “sloppy-fat”. I’ve seen girls in the average range who nevertheless somehow manage to look like frumpsters cultivating cellulite.
Body Positive = Healthy Negative
Yeah well not every guy gets to be a 6’4” Adonis with a huge package and abs you could grate cheese with so suck it up. Why do they think that most of us dress so slovenly in the summer? Them Hawaian shirts and cargo shorts are not hiding the bountiful treasures within. It’s like a version of the burka for schlubby guys.
Them Hawaian shirts and cargo shorts are not hiding the bountiful treasures within.
You got it right with that; “burka” not so much. Cargo shorts reveal the calfs and give you a good idea about the thighs. The Hawaiian shirt (always untucked, lads, always) if worn properly (ie, top two buttons not fastened) gives you a great view of the chest so you can gauge body hair coverage.
Things I Learned Today : Item the first…
Fashionable gentlemen wear jorts, not cargo shorts.
I run to the skinny side – genetics! – so I don’t mind taking my shirt off tooooo much. But what gal wants to see my long monkey arms? And white skin so pale that it blinds people when the sun is out? It’s Michigan – the land of the winter slumber.
/looks at my closet of work shirts and bowling shirts

Wonder how the “Stop liking hot chicks” campaign plays out. If they keep at it, I’m sure I’ll start digging out of shape and unhealthy women eventually.
You may have to. Because a lot of women will simply stop trying to manage their weight.
Personally, I like the dad bod but only within certain limits. I’m seeing a lot more truly obese young guys, like twentysomethings, on dating apps than I used to. It’s so sad because while they may lose that weight they will still be stuck with all that saggy flesh.
*Puts on sweater vest* I don’t like to look at hawt chicks no more!
Also, you’re absolutely right. You start thin and slowly add weight over the years to avoid stretch marks. Not vice versa.
“You may have to. Because a lot of women will simply stop trying to manage their weight.”
In my case it happened – I am certain of this – because of wedding cake. Not only did it put a huge dent in and over time kill her sex drive, but it also made her gain weight. Then again, it could be the toilet paper. She kept rubbing that on her ass and the thing got as big as a house. She also didn’t appreciate me asking her to do that to her boobs so I could get my Q quotient satisfaction.
This seems an appropriate place to ask this. Has anyone else noticed that over the last few years or so, the women in commercials have big asses? Seriously. Pay attention from now on if you haven’t noticed this.
PAGING SIR MIXALOT!
My anaconda don’t want none
Unless you got buns, hun.
My understanding is that this trend hasn’t spread nearly as much within Japan.
You’ll have to let me know how it works out…
The gals here are having a hard enough time even capturing the attention of the porn saturated guys here. No way they’re going to try fat and slovenly.
Japan goes the way of the giant panda. We’ll be trying to breed ’em in zoos eventually.

No way they’re going to try fat and slovenly.
But will they try tentacle grafts? That’s the real question.
Appropriate – this just hit my news feed.
Japanese official calls high-heel mandates for women at work “necessary and appropriate,” dismissing “KuToo” movement
While it’s clear that the battle of the sexes has become toxic in much of the West, I really think forcing cube drones into heels is pretty regressive.
Oh, the stuff that cube drones are forced to endure in Japan is the stuff of legend.
This applies to both sexes.
I basically couldn’t work for a traditional Japanese company.
What would it be called?

Interesting to me they used the Crowder t-shirt Socialism is for F*gs as an example of harassment, when they should be offended by the image of Che…who actually killed homosexuals.
Also interesting side-note: Che was captured in the village of La Higuera, which translates as “the fig tree”
Bernie Sanders: Soviet Union, Venezuela don’t count as examples of failed socialism
“the examples of failed socialism that critics use are not socialist democracies, but authoritarian states led by corrupt, ruthless, and paranoid dictators.”
Interesting how often one directly leads to the other
Yeah, it’s almost like you can’t have socialism without authoritarianism to enforce it.
I still remember when we warned the people telling us the socialist miracle going on in Venezuela would go south and end up in totalitarian boots on the necks of the people, only to be rebuffed that “this time” the right guy was in charge and it would finally work. I guess a real hardcore progtard could argue that it was Chavez passing and Maduro taking over that broke the system, but even if one was willing to pretend shit didn’t go bad under Chavez long ago, this line of thinking all but destroys the proggie argument socialism can be made to work in the long term. Sooner than later the wrong guy will be in charge, and then the unicorns and free ponies will all be taken away as the plebes are taken to the shed.
They have actually convinced themselves that Venezuela failed because of American sabotage. Much like Cuba is only impoverished because of the American embargo. Even though Cuba can trade with every other nation in the world.
It is the best reason to end the Cuban embargo, IMO. Let Cuba fail without excuse. Oh sure, they will come up with another, probably how the American money is influencing things.
They can and do trade with Canada, EU, Australia, etc.
There was no embargo with Venezuela and they failed just as spectacularly.
There’s always an excuse, and the excuses never hold up to reason and facts. But it never stops them.
So the only thing you can do is ridicule and mock them. Or – and this is even more hateful – ignore them.
Yeah, it is always some evil and nefarious outsider that “forces” these noble people running these utopian states to go all fucking tyrannical as a means to save the utopian dream. Fuck me, you have to be willfully stupid on a level that is so frighting to accept this nonsense that one is left wondering if humanity does not deserve an extinction level event.
They really are NPCs; you know what they’re going to say before the question is even asked.
It requires an authoritarian to take massive amounts of wealth from the people by threat of violence. Doesn’t matter if that authoritarian was voted in or not.
Democratic Authoritarianism. So it’s all good, comrade.
Well, to be fair, there’s the following list of successful socialist states as a counterpoint:
Also, Obligatory
“so I’m going to pay my fair share of taxes.” You know, you could just give however much you want to charity and leave the rest of us alone.
That’s funny, 2020 Bernie seems to disagree quite a bit with 1980s Bernie in regards to the Soviet Union.
He’s a grifter, like Sandy. He found a profitable political niche selling a vision to envious rubes, and now he owns a lakefront chateau.
Their beloved Nordic models count as examples of failed socialism, or at least socialism that was prudently headed off and rolled back.
Wonder why he would honeymoon in such an authoritarian shithole?
Because they were more than happy to suck up to his ego.
He’s a perennial loser that could only succeed in politics because of his sheer laziness and incompetence. He’s a useful idiot in the truest sense of the term and they were taking advantage of that.

Why FFA Is Not Actually for Everybody
Let’s not.

Ah no thanks. I’ve got some _reaaal_ important things to do. Like trim my toenails.
Future Indian Farmers of America (FIFA)
I need this t-shirt to start wearing to soccer games.
When I was Prez of the local FFA chapter we didn’t have any minorities, period. OTOH, the Italian and Greek kids didn’t live on farms, they came from town ’cause their parents were store owners.
The good news is I was dating the Prez of the FHA and they had dances where the FFA kids were the invitees. 65 years ago is a long time in life but a short time in history.
Let’s. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
An Infuriating Story About How Badly the Democrats Botched the Kavanaugh Fight
Per the site, Grim reported that Schumer “repeatedly told outside allies that a furious stand against Kavanaugh would enrage Trump supporters and only disappoint progressive voters. We have no power, he explained repeatedly.”
Weird, Schumer actually sounds competent to me.
Schumer is a slimy piece of shit, but he is a competent politician. He knows how to play the game and manipulate the rubes.
^This. He knows how to use media.
“The most dangerous place in Washington is between Sen Schumer and a TV camera.”
Set moobs to KILL!
Schumer is a slimy piece of shit, which is why he is a competent politician.
The article presumes Kavanaugh’s guilt and Schumer doesn’t even care about it, just the political outcome.
I hate them all.
Credible accusations!
I love all the experts that still came to bat after there was no corroboration. “Well, yeah, makes sense that these people don’t remember anything because nothing happened to them.”
Maybe I never went to enough small parties in high school, but if someone asked me if I was ever in a small group with these specific people I would remember.
How was Ford ever able to successfully purge her social media without somebody digging it back up?
With assistance from her allies who run the social media companies.
Is there an example where bipartisanship didnt lead to a restriction on our rights?
Nope. The only reaching across the aisle I want to see is to deliver a punch.
We need more canings.
Bring back dueling. They would be a little more circumspect with their slurs and accusations.
Agreed 100% plus think of the glorious entertainment value.
Shit yeah, huge PPV potential.
That should always be called, “reaching around the aisle”.

Yesterday. But then, as if by magic, her comment disappeared and left mine hanging.
It was quite triggering.

An interesting bit of trivia I found while reading the biography of Corelli the early 18th century composer – he is one of 7 people buried in the Pantheon at Rome
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Burials_at_the_Pantheon,_Rome
The best Gelato I have ever had was about a block from the Pantheon. That is most of what I remember from visiting it.
The columns are single pieces, if I properly recall the tour.
Can someone add some context to this whole Steven Crowder thing. I can’t find any good info from the news. I didn’t think he was a big anti-gay guy. What’s up with the “socialism is for fags” shirt?
Tim Poole on youtube has done a good job.
He’s been making that joke for a while. I get his point, but it’s getting tiresome. Not harassment, but he should’ve given it rest just for repetitive reasons.
It’s a shirt that he sells on his website.
It has a picture of che and says socialism is for f*gs
The star is a small fig.
“Socialism is for Losers” would be a much better tagline. It’s empirically true, in my estimation.
Maybe.
I got into it pretty good on Facebook (I know, I deleted it since) defending owen Benjamin’s “Nazis are fags” joke.
“Weaponizing bigotry against marginalized communities”. That’s pretty fucking catch all.
https://www.adl.org/news/press-releases/adl-statement-on-youtube-policy-changes-to-reduce-extremist-content
The ADL left the actual fight against anti-Semitism a long time ago and decided to focus on broader fund-raising opportunities.
It’s “harassment” if you can’t stop yourself from reading the comments?
Bull. Shit. This is absolute bullshit…unless you redefine “severe online hate” and “harassment”
Words are violence.
This hurts my feelings. I am therefore part of the 37%.
Both online hate AND harassment?!
Ah, Xbox live.
That modern warfare 2 lobby was where you really got to practice your craft.
define it to mean whatever the viewer feels it to mean.
Oh, it’s not bullshit. I’ve been criticized online. That counts as hate and harassment, doesn’t it? Everyone should agree with me, otherwise they’re haters.
Do us glibs count as a marginalized group?
A bunch of white, male libertarians? Fuck, we’re the worst of the harassers.
I think they hate libertarians more than they hate Trump supporters.
They do.
I’m a gender-traitor!
(Not really, because I’m pro-male, but that’s the best thing they can come up with for us fags who don’t march in lockstep with the movement.)
I’m sorry, you’re not gay.
Like Peter Thiel, you’re just a man who has sex with men.
So how does the young gay guy I met at the punk weekend count? He was bitching because he had to learn how to wear condoms again since he wasn’t going to get his boyfriend pregnant (the boyfriend is F2M). Nice young kid, even said he was really hardcore as he was a libertarian living in Washington.
But…butt…
Um…how does that even come up in casual conversation?
And I’m still trying to wrap my mind around that scenario.
So how does the young gay guy I met at the punk weekend count?
That’s a swamp into which I do not want to wade.
Recently a F2M person has entered the periphery of my gay bear social circle. He’s really cute, and has a gorgeous red beard and copius ginger body hair, but still has a vag . I think he’s gotten busy with a couple of the other guys who would normally never touch a vag. I haven’t asked their feelings about that.
FWIW, Phalloplasty (F2M genital surgery) is expensive and yields unsatisfactory results both cosmetically and functionally. Most of the guys don’t get that. The male hormones do cause the clitoris to enlarge into what is often called a micropenis, maybe 1″ long and proportionally thick.
Sean: Lots of drugs and alcohol. And that was far from the most shocking random conversation I had last weekend. There was the person going into details about animal husbandry, the discussions about vulgarity as a greeting, the economics of marijuana legalization and drug dealing in states…
Tonio: Just the entire discussion verged into surreal for me, but none of what they’re doing is going to have any impact on me. They can let whatever flags they want fly.
I believe they do as well. Well, at least we got each other.
Just like the socons hate libertarians more than they hate leftists.
*Hurls milkshake at Raph*
*runs crying to youtube to deplatform all of us*
So he is for actual violence.
Yep.
Yes. And he uses his sexual predilections for cover.
Fuck him
But not like that.
Ewww, no. If I wanted to f*ck a p*ssy I’d go out and find a proper MILF.
It’s telling that he’s not getting milkshaked himself on a daily basis. Or coming home to flies buzzing around the congealed sweetened dairy coating his door. Or opening his car door (lol, as if he would have a car) to find its seat damp and sour,
What a mendacious f*g.
I prefer Black Mission or Calimyrna, myself.
Depends. Does one have to first be noticed before one can be marginalized? If so, I think we’re safe in our dark little corner of the interwebz.
As long as we remain irrelevant to the national political and cultural discourse we’ll be safe.
I promise if I ever run for public office, I’ll flash a sign for us or drop a cryptid reference and you will all know.
“Are you a friend of

I watch a fair amount of stuff on youtube. Videos which are exclusively about doing things and making things, not people talking about other people.
Weird, right?
I smell a shitlord.
I’ve been watching a lot of Jay Leno’s garage. When I was a teenager/20-30-something, I only cared about 60s muscle or sports cars. Now I have an appreciation for the whole history of the auto, including the early sports cars and steam powered ones.
Jay writes a column for Hagerty. I dig his work and his commitment to preserving automotive history.
The development of the sports car is a really interesting story. We went from ‘horseless carriage’ to monster horsepower in a really short period of time.
Someone should write an article…
What self-respecting car nut wouldn’t want to drive this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0HXxGjlIag
Wow! 146 mph in 1917 is ridiculous. It seemed pretty damn smooth at speed as well.
I love stories like that one. Thanks, man!
21.7L engine!
And of course a 50 gallon gas tank.
I enjoy Jay Leno’s garage too. It plays to his strengths as a talk show host and comedian.
While he is an old fashioned lefty he doesn’t feel the need to politicize his show or every make everything political.
In entertainment today this is now a rare thing.
Yes. His politics are no different from most entertainment types but he’s not an asshole about it.
I always thought Leno leaned right. Or center by Hollywood standards. Am I wrong about that?
I’ve seen interviews with him.
Old school lefty in the Kennedy style. Remember he is originally from Massachusetts.
He is on record suggesting that mixing heavy politics into entertainment and comedy is a bad idea.
Old school lefty in the Kennedy style.
Which to be fair does seem a bit right-wing by today’s Hollywood standards.
I got to see Leno in a small private event where he did a Q&A at the end. Of course got a question about the Conan dust up. Totally professional, gracious to Conan and sincere. He’s a guy I wouldn’t mind having a beer or two with.
Good morning to all the glibs I don’t see at night. OK, all of you…
Just a note: if you did’t yet know, CPRM has his store on redbubble.com up and selling H&H merch.
I really like them, because of all the types of products they have for designs, and have ordered a shit-ton of t-shirts fro them over the last half-year.
Right now, they are offering the biggest discount I’ve seen them offer, on all clothing (t’s, hoodies, pulll-overs, etc.) which is 25%. So, if you’re inclined to check out his store and support him, go to http://www.redbubble.com/people/cprm, and look at what is available for each design.
The code is 25SAVE. I will personally vouch for the “classic t-shirt”. They offer a lot of sizes/styles/colors, and you can use Amazon Pay, if you like. So yeah.
/crossing my fingers that this could lead to a Glibs store there.
Have an excellent day, normies.
Not gonna lie, I dig the mug with the H&H logo. I’ll look into getting some of that swag after I move.
Hey Kenelm, how’s it going.
My child has spent approximately 15 hours on the phone with her friends since school ended mid-day Tuesday. She’s on with them now.
I don’t really have a problem with it, since it gets her out of my hair until camp starts on Monday, and I’m glad she has such close friends, which I never did at that age, but yeesh.
It seems like you cheered yourself up after the second paragraph. Well done, you
I thought kids don’t talk on phones anymore?
My exact thought. My son only texts.
Phone sex > cyber
She’s texting as well, but she’s got 4 of her friends on a group Facetime too.

It’s too bad that “justice” is now a suffix you add to another word to make the whole concept meaningless gibberish.
It got easier when they stopped believing in actual justice. There was that word lying around just waiting to be used for something else.
When you don’t actually believe in anything and nothing is worth conserving, justice becomes a free-floating concept that attaches to whatever seems good and proper at the moment. Like “socialism.”
As I told our Risk Management Department yesterday: “Its called the legal system, not the justice system, for a reason.”
Have an excellent day, normies.
You take that back, hater!
The Odd Couple?

Hmm. This is… oddly specific.
Creosote’s fault !
Well done. I would definitely watch a show with AOC in a french maid’s uniform
Ted has the uniform on.
Kinky……

Those “what-if” articles are total bullshit, particularly when you project a living person back in time to before he was born and then try to predict what that person would have done in a given circumstance.

It’s hilarious that this clown, who is a big fan of throwing food at people whose opinions he doesn’t like, thinks that his crybaby act is believable. It’s also amusing that he gets described as a “journalist” when he was hired by Vox from Media fuckin’ Matters.
Imagine someone compared Christians to the Taliban (a pretty common remark from progressives). Now imagine someone compares the rainbow flag to the swastika. Which one outrages you more?
Ideally, you would say neither, but in reality we have already been conditioned to view one as blasphemous, but not the other. Guess which one?
“someone compares the rainbow flag to the swastika”
Actually, they have been doing so for a while. Doesn’t help that the early Nazi movement was pro-homo and that’s what the Pink Swastika people seize upon, conveniently forgetting the Night of the Long Knives when big Nazi homo Ernst Roehm went down (!), and of course the subsequent incarceration and execution of homos in the concentration camps.
I am out of the loop. I didn’t know that people were already comparing the two.
I knew Ernst and the SA were pro-homosexuality. Considering Hitler’s smoking ban (almost a hundred years before any other Western nation instituted the same bans), his mandatory vacation time for workers, and his veganism, he was pretty progressive.
That’s a big part of what the Night of the Long Knives was all about – the German military made it clear that they (mostly) didn’t have a problem with Hitler and his party, but they hated the SA, in no small part because of the “degeneracy” of it’s leadership. For the most part, that meant the homosexuality of Roehm and many of his subordinates. Eliminating them was Hitler’s way of sucking up to the generals, as well as getting rid of potentially troublesome rivals within the party.
Just had to talk smack to a poor protected individual who just can’t protect himself.

Is your brother looking forward to silencers being banned via executive order?
Lives in Texas and was in the Marine corps for a decade. My guess is probably not.
I’m pretty pissed for that
normally i wouldn’t think Trump would make that bad a political decision but after his ATF nomination, now i’m not so sure.
And banning bump stocks via executive order. He’s really not good on guns.
Surprise. A NYC centrist surrounded by armed security for years. What are the odds?
Pikachu shocked face
the argument for bump stocks is not as strong as the argument for suppressors. the regulatory requirements and technical capabilities of suppressors are well documented and easy to comprehend. also, suppressor companies are a good employer of flyover country.
i still don’t see Trump moving on suppressors. but i’d feel better if he didn’t have such a hard-on for LEOs with FOP being so damn anti-2A.
Since Trump is basically a 1990s Democrat, this is not surprising.
This act of aggression will not stand
Andrew McCarthy (the smart one, not the douche one) is still the best commentary on the Mueller fiasco.
https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/05/robert-mueller-investigation-was-always-impeachment-probe/
“By contrast, Mueller’s staff believes that (a) the executive bureaucracy is semi-autonomous in its areas of expertise, and thus Justice Department prosecutors are supreme, even over the president, in matters of law enforcement;”
Unless there is a (D) next to the president’s name, and then, said president can tell his weaponized three letter agencies to circumvent the law whenever it suits them, and especially to target their political enemies, with impunity. Because….
This is because conservatives/libertarians fundamentally believe that there are limits to what government should do and would put up stop signs. For Dems, it’s all ‘ends justify means’.
But only when they are in the office.
It’s all about intent. “Did you say `fag` with hate in your heart? I think we know you did.”
I’m pretty much fagged out by all of this.
I suggest you go smoke a fag to recover.
The proper parlance is ‘jerk a fag’, referring to limeys smoking.
“my tinfoil hat-ass thinks this was staged. she gives him the mic before he even went for it. that didnt look like a natural reaction to having a stranger storm up to you. ? maybe im just biased because copmala.”

Another one of life’s little entertainments – an organization that was formed to protect Bill Clinton in 1999 and called “Move On” still exists today with the same name.
eh, I think she probably handed it over just to sate the nutjob and avoid physical confrontation.
That said, the interpretation of the event as an aspect of the “patriarchy” and not as the result of yet another smelly leftist loon with a a shitty beard and hair is stupid on its face.
But it was an act of “patriarchy” – notice on the video how they don’t let the women on stage take care of the situation, a bunch of men rush in and are the ones to haul the mic-stealer off stage.
Wait, is that not how it’s being interpreted?
I suppose it could be real. Who knows? What is insane is that The Hill thinks that was news. That is what makes it look faked more than her handing him the mic.
I am a numismatic collector, and as such get a newsletter from a group of Military Payment Certificate (MPC) collectors. The “leader” of this group, and editor of the newsletter is numismatist and author, Fred Schwan (and the author of everything quoted below). I submit an excerpt from today’s D-Day commemorating newsletter. I thought history buffs would be interested:
The article is in reference to Operation Tomcat. This was an operation to get 2 Franc Allied Military Currency to all personnel involved in Operation Overlord.
Picture of obverse and reverse
I am only mildly a history buff (but not the Civil War, because somehow it’s racist to study that now for reasons that I really don’t understand), but is it true that the Allies originally wanted to sidestep DeGaulle as the face of the French opposition and instead thought that they could work with Petan?
The general pointed out that no one issues notes in France but Frenchmen and that this text indicated otherwise.
“Tough shit. You aren’t in France, and nobody in France is in a position to issue legal tender except the Germans. So, what’s your plan for troops acquiring things from the locals? Steal it?”
With regard to the whole left-wing deplatforming effort, I think the effort is taking us to a really bad place. Not just for the targets of their efforts, but for them, as well.
The popular mythology about the rise of the Nazis, what seems, partly, to inform a lot of their efforts, is that it happened because good people wouldn’t stand up to them. But, that’s really only partially true. The Nazis didn’t just show up and get all the bad people together and take over. There was a larger dynamic in place. The German communists were every bit as thuggish and vicious as the Nazis. And, for a lot of Germans, at least from what I’ve been able to glean from reading, the Nazis were the ones doing the standing up to them. Because, all along, the “responsible” left, just like the the “responsible” right (and they were definitely just as guilty) with regard to the Nazis, were more than happy to let their thugs run havoc on the other side, whether the thugs or the “responsible” elements, rationalizing it that they were all the same, anyway. And before long, there’s no longer any place for the “responsible” element. Giving the thugs free rein changes the rules of the game. And not to the benefit of the “respectable” elements.
I worry we’re seeing the beginnings of this process play out. The social media companies are happy to brand an ever-widening scope of conservative, or even libertarian, voices “hate speech” or “white supremacists” or even Nazi. The left-wing cultural elements are increasingly responding to low-level violence toward opponents with a wink and a nod. They’ll shriek about even non-existent stuff perpetrated by the right. But, they’ll give their own thugs all the latitude in the world. But, how do they think that’s going to play out? Because it seems to me that the effect is only going to be to discredit “responsible” elements on the right in favor of the right’s own thugs.
Maybe I’m wrong. Honestly, I hope I am.
People somehow forgot that free speech isn’t about legal protections. It’s about the concept of sharing ideas, no matter how offensive, and trying to figure out what is real. Free speech would be a legit argument even if 1A never existed.
When your ideology is not driven by logic, facts, or reason, but like a cult, on emotion and emotional identity politics, it is not hard to see how you quickly come to see anything you disagree with as evil and needing suppression.
We don’t even need to look at the Nazis. It is an indisputable fact that Mussolini and the Fascists came to power (on a wave of popularity) as an antidote to the unruly behavior of the socialists and communists which had engaged in wildcat strikes and violence. To this day, most people in Italy don’t really have a strong negative reaction to Mussolini as many view him as being better than the alternative of the socialists and communists.
As if this is ever thought to today’s woke marxist douchebags. Shit, these people still argue that the Nazis and fascists were right wing, when all they were is right of Marx socialists (and thus totalitarian scumbags too).
And, not to forget, Hitler and Mussolini came to power as a reaction to “International” (read; Soviet) communism. What they and their supporters were really opposed to was Soviet influence and power in their countries, not socialism per se. When communist revolutions outside of Russia failed in the early ’20s, the Soviets announced “Socialism in One Country” to strengthen Russia as the only Communist country. The semantic difference between “socialism in one country” and “national socialism” is pretty small, IMO.
Absolutely correct. Germany in the 1920’s was Nazi’s and Commies fighting over the same followers. Whichever way it went, it was not going to turn out well.
Me today, you tomorrow.
I hope you’re wrong as well, but you bring up some damn good points.
I worry about this too. I see a lot of people accepting all this uncritically. The whole “hate speech” thing involves presenting opinion as fact. It’s presented as racist or violence-inducing speech (arguably somewhat objective criteria) being “hate speech”, but in practice there is no objective criteria. Calling for the murder of gay or black people is “hate speech”, but calling for the murder of straight white males is not. “Hate speech” is whatever a loud person on the left says it is, and a large number of people, and some big corporations, are going right along without giving it a second thought.
Calling for the murder of gay or black people is “hate speech”, but calling for the murder of straight white males is not.
I’ve made a joke about this one time. If you support hate speech laws, imagine a panel convened to arbitrate what is hate speech comprised of Milo Yiannopoulos, Richard Spencer and Rick Santorum.
WRONG TOP MEN!
I have have a similar argument I haven’t had the opportunity to use. It involves Congress creating a department that identifies and deals with hate speech, and President Trump appointing the head of that department.
Crowder blasphemed. People don’t seem to grasp the double standard, because they are not accepting of the fact that their adversaries are religious fundamentalists.
I ask this question again: Imagine someone compared Christians to the Taliban (a pretty common remark from progressives). Now imagine someone compares the rainbow flag to the swastika. Which one outrages you more?
Ideally, you would say neither, but in reality we have already been conditioned to view one as blasphemous, but not the other. Guess which one?
This has been a theme of Mark Steyn’s for a while, although generally he’s said it specifically about Europe rather than the US. Same principle though.
And, when I’m honest with myself, it’s a big reason why I shrug off a lot of Trump’s bullshit. He’s a blowhard and a phony, but he’s certainly got the right enemies, and the lizard part of my brain certainly enjoys when he unapologetically rips on the left.
Same here. Right now, after eight years of Obama, the biggest, most immediate threat to me seems to be the Progressive SJW crowd that doesn’t let a day pass before they’re attacking rights I value (such as gun ownership) or even my identity. Intellectually I understand that Trump and the MAGA crowd aren’t necessarily any better, but a.) they’re different at least, b.) they’re attacking me on fewer fronts, and c.) they’re currently fighting off my most recent and imminent enemies.
I do not think you are, this is pretty much exactly how it will play out
The progressive left will defacto enact a pincer move with Antifa carrying out direct violent action against ever more moderate groups of political activists while the polite society faction marginalizes them politically into ever tighter enclaves and denies them the right to even speak in the public square driving the right to become ever more radicalized.
Eventually the rights greater ability to act collectively because their greater reliance and acceptance of hierarchical instiutions will give rise to a militaristic authoritarian populist movement similar to the Fascist parties of the 1920’s and 30’s. No they won’t be Nazi’s and they won’t necessarily follow the same exact dictates as the Nazi Party but their effect and rise to power will be similar and they will be equally disasterous to human freedom
This is one likely outcome. Another is more like the civil war. The SJWs continue to push and prod at the tattered threads that hold the detent together until there is some sort of powder keg moment set off by a lunatic that starts a growing cycle of open violence.
For example, antisocial lunatic detonates a backpack bomb at contentious rally/counter-rally. Resultantly, a mob/riot/street fight breaks out between the two coalitions, and grows to the point that cops can’t rein it in. That sort of thing has historically kicked off wars.
Oh I think what I described is exactly the mechanism by which a civil war that I think is verging on inevitable starts
Most times I bring the idea of another civil war up people start talking about secession of states, what they don’t grasp is I do not think government at any level will be involved as anything more than an impotent bystander.
It will not be a civil war against the government, at least not at first, it will be a civil war between groups of people that governments at both the state and federal levels will try and stop
Whatever else you want to worry about, know these things:
1) Mainstream news outlets are shrinking into irrelevance. As they try to cling to life by choosing a side, they only accelerate their shrinkage.
2) Facebook and Twitter have maxed out. Their growth periods are over. People simply cannot consume any more of their product.
“Don’t forget the Vox journalist who started #VoxAdpocalypse called for assault of conservatives on Twitter, a DIRECT violation of Twitter’s TOS against incitement. A few days later, conservatives in Britain were attacked in exactly the way he described. The tweet is still up.”
https://twitter.com/scrowder/status/1136437183693381637
Yup. And that’s why their claims about Terms of Service are risible. They’ll happily look the other way to blatant violations of those terms while coming down like a ton of bricks on commentary they disagree with.
At this point, the only option I see is to clarify Section 230 of the CDA. If you want to take an editorial line, that’s your right. But, you’re a publisher and Section 230 doesn’t apply.
The problem is that then they will take a leftist editorial stance as a publisher, instead pretending they aren’t taking a leftist editorial stance as a platform.
And they are and should be free to do that. And they should be subject to all of the legal liability publishers face for publishing threats, slander, IP violations. etc.
and at that point YT goes away. why is there no free-speech alternative to YT?
Because YT has the backing of Google and Google does play silly games to support their player.
And maybe YT doesn’t go away. They have the option of not taking an editorial stance.
Because it will get starved of funds by YT in partnership with the government and credit card companies.
And the corporate press will label all competitors as “alt-right” or whatever the baddie du jour is that week

This is nuts. YouTube needs to explain why @scrowder is banned, but @iamsambee (“Ivanka is a feckless c***.”) & @JimCarrey (“look at my pretty picture of Gov. Kay Ivey being murdered in the womb”) aren’t. No coherent standard explains it. Here’s an idea: DON’T BLACKLIST ANYBODY.
oh snap!
Today i had to take my mom to the airport at 5 pm. Oh my god the traffic… i cant even. How can people do this every day?
They have cars in Romania? Or is it mainly ox carts?
Ha ha
Sorry. I often confuse being funny with being an ass. Being an ass comes more natural for me
The two are not mutually exclusive.
I laughed. With you or at you, I won’t say.
I thought they flew like bats.
Be glad you weren’t at LAX today.
Blackout, terminal 1 shut down.
“How can people do this every day?”
Soma.
The left-wing cultural elements are increasingly responding to low-level violence toward opponents with a wink and a nod.
They want to pretend it’s justified retaliation and self-defense for decades (centuries!) of oppression and violence.
Maybe they do. But, if that crap continues, how long do they think it will be before conservatives start following guys who “aren’t afraid to fight back”?
And there’s the whole moral justification that you can’t hold yourself to normal standards of behavior if that means allowing the dark forces of hate to gain ground. Throwing a milkshake at someone you think you disagree with is the moral equivalent of the Underground Railroad or killing a Nazi concentration camp guard.
And of course, those they disagree with will nevvver take a comparable viewpoint.
The milkshake thing is also an intimidation tactic. It lets the target know they can be attacked on the street. Milkshake today, pistol (or knife, or muriatic acid, or whatever) tomorrow.
I gather the top gif is a depiction of the Bruins after the game tonight.
This should go without saying, but if you have a YouTube account you should cancel and hopefully all the good creators will migrate over to bitchute or minds. Naomi Brockwell is on minds and she’s hot.
A lot of creators run their own spots in the video. Turn on Adblock to screw Youtube out of revenue but keep giving creators view count.
Can Android users “cancel” YouTube? Are the two severable? I mean, a YouTube account is a Google account, right?
(insert shrug emoji)
Yeah, the two are basically the same. You can “disable” the YouTube app, but I think that might just punt you back to whatever version ships with the version of the OS you’re currently on.
One of the reasons I tried Android and dropped it. I couldn’t get all the Google garbage off my tablet without jailbreaking it, and I am quite confident that no matter how I “disabled” it, it was still reporting everything to Google.
You can beef about Apple, but I don’t there’s any question that they are an order of magnitude less intrusive than Google. Their hardware and software is solid, and the shortcomings in their walled garden are far less concerning to me than Google’s basic business model of harvesting as much data as they can (which is a shitload of data) and selling it. With Google, I know I am data cattle, the product. With Apple, I am more the customer.
I’m still an Android guy, but it’s harder and harder to recommend Android phones for the very reasons you mention. The straight-up Linux phones seem to be promising, though. I might hold off on upgrading until they start hitting the market.
That’s how I ended up choosing an Iphone.
I cancelled my Premium subscription yesterday.

I love.books. History, literature, science—everything.
But I purged my library (mostly) in favor of Kindle and online content.
Now i fear that the real truth will be gone when they recycle/destroy the last Britannica.
I’ve held on to Churchill’s History of the English Speaking Peoples.
This is an interesting point that I hadn’t considered. Digital information can be easily modified or deleted by a future Ministry of Truth. Physical books will be much harder for them to deal with. Not to mention the possibility of an EMP demolishing the digitally stored information. I may have to work on rebuilding my library.
So in the future we shall call you by your nickname, Chesp? Seems like a lot to memorize.
What a delusional nut job.

Notably absent from the tweet: an acknowledgement of the ENORMOUS amount of weapons, equipment, and supplies the US and UK shipped to the USSR, without which they wouldn’t have won a damned thing. To wit:
The Normandy landings were not a game-changer for the outcome of WWII and the Great Patriotic War.
Well, this is bullshit. The Germans kept an enormous amount of men and equipment in France, not fighting Russians, because of the pending invasion. If the Germans had beat England (and they very nearly did), the Russians would have been facing a much larger and better equipped army. Nobody knows, of course, but the Russians just barely beat the German army they faced, and I think it unlikely they would have beat the combined German armies.

That Spanish hamburger looks pretty good, I’m not gonna lie.
What makes the burger Spanish?
Did the beef patty die in a bullfight?
Gouda, bacon, and some particular sauce, apparently. And the burger itself looks bigger, but that could be an illusion.
Because nothing says Spain like American bacon and Dutch cheese.
Yes, it’s not like there aren’t Spanish cheeses. Ham is also Spanish, but anything authentic would be too expensive for McD’s.
Manchego would be nice
The bull does not always lose, mi amigo.
McDonald’s Worldwide Favorites menu is a greasy, putrid trash fire
Why else would I eat there?
That’s what they sounded like. And the pictures more closely resemble what is actually served by a random McD’s.
That upsets some people.
Classic.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Cuozzo took the pics himself.
I had that on VHS.
Add that to the list of movies that could never be made now.
No chance.
I love this scene.
And especially this. Reminds me of summer in Minnesota.
The whole thing is just so quotable and epic.
A lot of people took that movie very seriously back in those days. I don’t know how they didn’t see than it was black comedy.

Oh, it was. It just made me remember the famously nasty review the NYT printed of Guy Fieri’s restaurant. Most people I know thought it was awesome, but I thought it was really low-rent and stupid. And I say this as someone who a)can’t stand Guy Fieri b)probably wouldn’t have disagreed much with their assessment of his restaurant.

Unexpected development
And yet, communities around the state have been funneling more money into services for the homeless, like L.A.’s Measure H sales tax, which is adding about $355 million each year to the arsenal.
So why are more people living in squalid conditions on the streets or in cars? Advocates for the homeless say it’s upsetting, but no surprise.
“Our housing crisis is our homeless crisis,” Elise Buik, president and chief executive of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, told me. “And we’ve got to get people to understand that.”
She said that people struggling with mental illness or substance abuse issues and who are living in encampments are often the most visible, but it is a myth that people experiencing homelessness decline help or prefer to live outdoors — one that contributes to misconceptions about the effectiveness of often costly services.
“Whaddaya mean, you want to cut our budget? That’s crazy. Can’t you see how effective we are?
*ahem*
Bullshit. Housing affordability is the biggest factor in driving out the middle class. Your homeless problem is driven by a combination of nice weather, indifference, and goodies handed out to all comers.

I think drug abuse plays a little part, too.
Permissiveness/complicity as public policy makes destructive drug use much more prevalent than it would be.
That is a large part of what I had in mind with “indifference”.
I’ve told it here before, but I think this story shows perfectly how that works. Last year I was doing a job on a condo next to Ocean Beach here. When I went in I noticed a vagrant had his backside pressed against the entry door next door and was spraying diarrhea all over the door and stoop. I yelled at him to stop and he kept spraying. There were literally bushes fifteen feet away and he choose to do it on someone’s door. So I called the police. A lady cop shows up 45 minutes later as I was finishing up. By then the vagrant was sleeping next to the garage. “What do you want me to do?” she asks me. “Take him down to Bryant Street”. “I don’t want him in the back of my car.” Write him up. “What, to add to the 50 other citations he already has?” So she tells him to move and he becomes a problem for the next block instead.

Mobocracy
Lawmakers in Oregon passed legislation on Wednesday to award its seven Electoral College votes to the presidential candidate who wins the popular vote nationwide, rather than the candidate who gets the most votes in the state.
——–
The electoral college has become a hot topic since the 2016 Presidential election, when Donald Trump won the presidency with 304 electoral votes even though Hillary Clinton won 2.87 million more popular votes.
The Electoral College system was the result of a compromise by the writers of the U.S. Constitution in the 18th century between those who wanted direct popular election and those who wanted state legislatures to decide.
———–
Those who want to keep the current system say that a straight popular vote would drown out the voices of people who live in states with smaller populations. That was the position taken by Nevada’s Gov. Steve Sisolak, a Democrat, who vetoed a similar bill it in May.
The Oregon bill now goes to the desk of Gov. Kate Brown, who has indicated she will sign it.
We should just transfer the seat of the national government to Los Angeles. Why the hell not?
So the, Oregon voters don’t need to participate in the national election since their votes don’t count in their own state. The state election is just a straw poll with no legal status.
Just wait.
I’d be interested in reading a serious Constitutional analysis of these laws. Offhand, they seem inconsistent with the Twelfth Amendment:
If the Electors’ votes are awarded by statute, its hard for me to say that the electors have “voted by ballot”.
Implied Powers Doctrine and Living Breathing Constitution Doctrine applied to the intersection of the Uniform Rule and Uniform Law Clause of Article I Section 8 and the General Welfare Clause. And that might hold up in SCOTUS.
That should speed up the calls for secession. Well done, crybabies.
It’s fucking 2019, why the hell do I need to fix time/date issues on servers (over the past three days, several Windows machines have had their date/time jump forward 14-16 hours, breaking all sorts of stuff).
You don’t have an ntp server configured? Your ntp server is borked? You are using bad sources for your ntp server? It’s amazing how fast high end IBM Power systems will skew time if they aren’t tied into an ntp server.
Festus, check your 8:19, sorry if I wasn’t more clear. My fault.
No worries, Friend. I can get a tad contentious after a night-shift and beers. My fault.
So the, Oregon voters don’t need to participate in the national election since their votes don’t count in their own state. The state election is just a straw poll with no legal status.
How long will it be until people start calling for state legislatures to be either abolished or subsumed into an all-encompassing national government, in order to establish uniformity of law and control throughout the nation?
It’s not fair that Montana and Wyoming don’t restrict gun ownership in the same way as New Jersey! And let’s talk about the crazy quilt of school curricula and funding! It’s uncivilized, I tell you.
How dare you take my snark at face value and turn it into a horror story.
If this madness actually goes into effect, it’s basically lights-out for the US. It was a nice run, but we’re France now.
What happens if Trump wins the popular vote in 2020?
Lulz. Many, many lulz.
More like Trump II in 2040. The policy is only hypothetical until a bunch more states sign their residents’ votes away.
If this madness actually goes into effect, it’s basically lights-out for the US. It was a nice run, but we’re France now.
I think the uber-state is the inevitable (and completely intentional) result of what they are pushing for. The notion of political/economic refugees fleeing from one American state to another offends them to the depths of their souls. Move from California ti Nevada to escape taxes and regulation? Unmutual! Enclaves of dissidence cannot be tolerated. Control must be absolute.
Resistance is futile.
Freedom is slavery.
Move from California ti Nevada to escape taxes and regulation?
I remain unconvinced that very many people moving from California are doing so to escape taxes and regulation. since they seem to immediately go about trying to raise taxes and impose more regulations wherever they move.
What happens if Trump wins the popular vote in 2020?
Zip it, Boris.
